What does Rckclimber Do?
We, Rockclimber, are an adrenaline driven trekking community. We organize treks seeking to provide you with a fine, raw and wild mountaineering experience with the help of our experienced trek leaders and great itineraries keeping quality, service and safety at the vanguard. Our facilities include hygienic food, sturdy equipment, and comfortable accommodation among others. Our philosophy is to operate with small groups to provide a more personalized attention and less environmental impact.
Where can I keep my luggage during the trek?
Carry your backpack and if due to any reason you are unable to carry it, then porters go along with you. Extra charges are applicable for offloading.
How do I choose a trek?
Choosing your first Himalayan trek is not easy. On the Rockclimber website, there are over 20 treks to choose from. Some people have a specific trek in mind and are disappointed if there is no availability on their preferred dates, however there are many less well-known treks that have similar features and are equally beautiful. Instead of limiting your options, ask the following questions to create a shortlist of two or three treks that will be sure to meet your requirements: 1. When do you want to go? 2. What are essentials I should carry during the trek?
We always recommend you to pack as light as possible however the specific requirement for your trip and it varies according to trek itinerary and conditions which vary trek to trek. Please find the common list we suggest you as essentials while trekking. Clothing: - 1 pair of trekking pants - Thermal underwear (top/bottom) - 3 short-sleeved t-shirts [Preferably quick-dry or regular cotton] - 1 long-sleeved travel/trekking shirt - Pajama/sleeping pants - Underwear - 3 pairs of socks - Hiking Shoes - Flip flops or river shoes - Rain Coat / Quancho - Gloves Other Trekking Gear: - Lamp - Rucksack [Preferably 50-70 L] - Quick-Drying Travel Towel - Sleeping Bag Liner - Water Bottle / Thermal Bottle - Sunscreen, hat and sunglasses - Walking stick - Hand sanitizer gel and soapHead - Toilet paper - Batteries, memory cards Personal Medical Kit: - Band-Aids, - Aspirin/Tylenol - Cipro (or other stomach antibiotic) - Amoxicillin (or other basic antibiotic to treat sinus infections) - Rehydration packets - Duct tape (magic in preventing and managing blisters)
What documents do I need to bring?
Original and photocopy of government photo identity card- (Aadhar Card, Driving License, Voters ID, etc.) Medical Certificate (First part should be filled by the Doctor and Second part by the Trekker)
What are the amenities Rockclimber will be providing during the trek?
- Stay, Accommodation and Meals on trek : Stay and accommodation on trek will be in Guest house, home stay and Tents All vegetarian meals. - Equipment for trekking. : Trekking equipment provided by Rockclimber will be Sleeping bag, Sleeping mattress, Kitchen equipment, utensils, crampon and tents (2 or 3 person tents) - Trekking permits and visiting fees For some places to trek or visit we have to take a permit and in many cases, we have to give a fee for it. - Medical and First Aid, Oxygen Supply Cylinders For any medical or mountain sickness Rockclimber will be providing Medical Kits and if required Oxygen Cylinders for high Altitude Treks. - Professional trek leader, Supporting staff and proper Guide We will be providing well-qualified trek leaders along with a team of Supporting Staff with a Guide having good knowledge about the area. .
How early should I make a reservation?
We recommend you to make reservation with us at least 20 days prior to departure. As we need to ensure that all arrangements for you are done with prior information to operators for every new booking.
What are the weather conditions in mountain?
The weather is unpredicted and can change anytime but generally the nights are cold and the days are warm. But, it totally depends on the season and conditions. Keep enough warm clothes to protect yourself against chilly cold.
How many people are expected to join a tour?
We keep our group sizes low so you have the freedom to move around and get involved with your surroundings, as well as more personal attention from our local guides. This intimate size ensures that your group will not crowd your experience. You can expect up to 20 travellers on a trip but the average is 14.
What is the fitness level required for the trek and how hard are the treks?
For moderate treks by Rockclimber you need to be able to jog for 20-25 minutes and cover 4 kms to do the trek comfortably.
Will there be charging facilities on the trek?
You can charge the batteries only in hotel. There will be no electricity during the trek so keep your batteries charged and bring extra battery backup.
Is internet available on the treks?
In most of the Himalayan region the connectivity is intermittent, you so at very few places the internet is available. Do not expect it in remote regions.
What happens in case of an emergency?
We are always prepared for the emergency conditions. The professional guides are certified in mountaineering courses and are aware of handling problematic situations.
Can I cancel my trek what is the cancellation policy?
In case you wish to cancel your trek please email us at support@rockclimbers.in Cancellation charges are based on the total trek fee, and same for full and partial payment modes. The cancellation policy is based on the original booking time and original start date of the trek. Cancel before 30 days of trek start date and get full refund after deduction of 2% payment processing fee. Cancel before 15 days of trek start date and get refund after deduction of 20% of total trek fee. Cancel before 10 days of trek start date and get refund after deduction of 40% of total trek fee. Cancel before 5 days of trek start date and get refund after deduction of 50% of total trek fee. Trek fee is non-refundable if you cancel within 4 days before trek start date. Note:- 1. Change of trek batch is dependent on the availability of seats in the batch. 2. In case of transferring a trek to a friend, he/she should satisfy all the mandatory requirements put forward by Rockclimber. 3. Rockclimber holds the right to change/cancel the policies, without prior notice .
